Coming off a game last night in Chicago, the Bulls have a quick turnaround today against the Western Conference powerhouse, Memphis Grizzlies. This should serve as a tough matchup for the road weary Bulls and Zach LaVine in particular.

LaVine is averaging 23.6 points per game, but he has been very up and down this season (as has his team). The athletic guard has failed to clear this line in six of his past eight games.

Going against the Grizzlies third-ranked defense, I’m not expecting LaVine to produce above his average. In fact, the nine-year veteran is under this line in 12 of the 15 games he’s played against the league’s top-10 defenses.

Desmond Bane and Dillon Brooks figure to share the responsibility of checking LaVine on defense (as well as DeMar DeRozan). And unlike DeRozan, LaVine relies more on at-rim scoring, which figures to be a struggle against the likes of Jaren Jackson Jr. and the Grizzlies front line.

I have LaVine projected at 21 points tonight, and would play this line down to under 23.5.

Pick: LaVine Under 24.5 (-120). Play down to under 23.5.
