Washington Wizards vs. Orlando Magic
The Washington Wizards won’t have Kyle Kuzma, who is out with an injury, but Kristaps Porzingis should be able to take over.
Washington’s offense has scored 115 points per 100 possessions, which is average. However, the team shoots a 55.4% effective field goal percentage. That’s above average. With Orlando allowing teams to shoot a 55.5% effective field goal percentage, you’d figure that Washington will get some outstanding looks from the field tonight.
Orlando will likely force a handful of turnovers and can at least keep Washington off the offensive glass. This game could come down to Washington hitting its shots.
On the other hand, Orlando is scoring only 111.9 points per 100 possessions. The Magic won’t get as many good looks from the field and turn the ball over 15.1% of the time. Usually, Washington isn’t a significant threat to force a high rate of turnovers, but with Orlando making a lot of errors, Washington could force more.
Orlando’s great at winning second chances on the offensive glass and getting to the foul line. But those are the two areas where Washington can do well in defensively. Give me the Wizards on the road, +1.5.
Bet: Wizards +1.5 (-110)
Boston Celtics vs. Sacramento Kings
The Celtics got two days of rest. The Kings are playing on a back-to-back after losing to Utah, 128-120.
Boston has scored 118 points per 100 possessions while shooting an effective field goal percentage of 56.6%. The Celtics consistently hold onto the ball but are extremely inconsistent on the offensive glass. Don’t expect the Celtics to dominate the offensive glass and earn second chances. But you should expect the Celtics to get good looks from the field and knock down shots.
Sacramento’s become the best offense in the NBA, but they’re still not the best team in the NBA due to their defense. Anyway, the Kings have scored 119.7 points per 100 possessions. That leads the nation. But they’ll struggle against the Celtics, who have held teams to 112.1 points per 100 possessions. Just like the Celtics, the Kings won’t be earning many second-chance points. There also won’t be too many turnovers from the Kings, either.
Most defenses can’t stop the Kings. But Boston’s one of them. Let’s take the Under 238.5 in this one.
Bet: Under 238.5 (-110)
