The NBA has been adding new wrinkles to its All-Star Game format over the years and Sunday’s game will take things back to the playground. Team captains LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo will select their teammates live on air at 7:30 p.m. ET.

This new feature has complicated some aspects of betting on the All-Star Game — it’s difficult to know which team is better if they haven’t been selected — but there is a way to bet on the unpredictability of the on-the-spot draft format.

James, who led the NBA in All-Star Game voting will get the No. 1 pick and DraftKings has listed Luka Doncic as the favorite to be taken first. Doncic and James have both shown admiration for each other in the past. At last year’s All-Star Game, James told reporters, “I love everything about his game. I love everything about him. The way he plays the game reminds me of the way I play the game.”

Behind Doncic on the odds board is James’ former teammate on the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kyrie Irving. (James was not subtle about his desire for the Los Angeles Lakers to trade for Irving before he was eventually sent to Dallas.) Jayson Tatum is the only other player with odds under 5-1.

Team LeBron enters the game as 3-point favorites against Team Giannis. James’ team has won every All-Star Game (5-0) since the Association went to the captain format. James’ team is 3-2 against the spread in those matchups.
