How NBA Conference Finals Odds Have Already Changed Before Game 1

Read about how NBA Conference Finals odds have already changed between open and the start of Game 1.

NBA Conference Finals odds were released on Sunday night and already prices have changed substantially.

The Boston Celtics opened as -165 favorites against the Miami Heat on account of their play over the final quarter of the regular season and the playoffs, over which time the Celtics were perhaps the best team in the NBA.

FiveThirtyEight, for instance, has the Celtics ranked as the most likely team to win it all and as the best team in the league over the past few months.

Those factors, in conjunction with sharp action, have forced Boston’s series odds to shorten precipitously. Their chances to advance to the NBA Finals have moved as short as -185 at BetMGM on account of sharp and big moneyed action.

The price has moved to -180 at DraftKings. FanDuel and Caesars both have this series priced at -175 now.

The market disagrees with the assertion that the Celtics are title favorites, though. DraftKings, FanDuel, WynnBet, BetMGM and Caesars all have the Golden State Warriors as title favorites, but still tab the Celtics with about a 30% (+200) probability to win the championship.

Those odds have also shortened from their opening marks on account of sharp action across the board.

The Warriors are title favorites at those five aforementioned sportsbooks with odds around +150. Those odds have lengthened from roughly +130.

For Golden State’s series against the Mavericks, Steph Curry and company are about -225 favorites.

Like their championship odds, the Warriors’ series odds had been more expensive at open. For instance, BetMGM opened series odds at -250 before moving to its current price of -225.

FanDuel also had the Warriors as -250 favorites to get past the Mavericks. Those odds are now at -220.
