Clippers vs. Raptors Prediction
Pick: Under 234
Clippers Betting Outlook
The Clippers enter this game as one of the hottest teams in the NBA, winning 11 of their last 13 matchups and only losing to the No. 1 seed Timberwolves and a healthy Lakers team in that span. However, this game presents itself as a possible “trap” game, as it is the first of a seven-game road trip and the first night of a B2B that includes a second road leg in Boston.
It is hard to know how “up” the Clippers get for this one knowing what they got on the other side. Do they reduce minutes? Do they plan to rest tomorrow and essentially throw the second game? I’m sure Coach Lue has a plan, and one angle for us bettors will be trying to figure it out. As of know, the Clippers are listing all the usuals as healthy.
Raptors Betting Outlook
While the Raptors had early positive results after making midseason trades, the losses started racking up very quickly as the lust wore off, and the talent gap of losing Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby reared its ugly head. Unlike the scorching Clippers, the Raptors enter this game losers of seven of their last eight games and will be without some key rotation pieces, with Quickly and Poeltl both already ruled out.
Clippers vs. Raptors Picks, Odds
The spread for this game feels well priced sitting at -7.5/+8 as the best available odds. However, the under presents the best and most valuable number. We have a key pace up player in Quickly missing for the Raptors, the elite defenders of the Clippers deemed healthy and a possible trap spot/ minutes reduction on the front end of a long road trip and difficult back to back.
I can see the pace of this game being slow and played through the wings, who will be matched up with elite defenders all over the court. I currently see 30% of bets but 78% of money on the under. It is a clear sharp side, and I’ll take it too! We even have sharp books like Circa already listing this total lower than 234.
