NBA Player Props & Picks

Knicks vs.

Heat

Gabe Vincent, Over 3.5 Assists (-145)

Spread Heat -4

Gabe Vincent is one of the many undrafted Miami Heat players who has embraced Heat culture and is having a successful playoffs thus far. With injuries to Tyler Herro and Victor Oladipo, Vincent has stepped up in a big way averaging 15.1 points per game while shooting over 40% from behind the arc. He also leads the team with five assists per game too.

Jimmy Butler being expected to play helps this assist prop for Vincent given that Butler is averaging a league-high 35.5 points per game during the playoffs. Vincent has recorded five or more assists in each of his last four games as his playing time continues to climb. Over that time, Vincent is playing 36 minutes and averaging six assists per game.

The Knicks have been great defensively in the playoffs, but being the starting point guard has provided a plethora of opportunities for Vincent to capture assists. Since given his extra playing time, Vincent is averaging eight potential assists per game. I would take this over at 4.5 assists or more with the Heat favored by four points at home tonight.

Our model has Vincent projected for 5.3 assists, which is well over the current 3.5 assist line.

Draymond Green, Over 7.5 Assists (-105)

Spread Lakers -3

Game 2 was a vintage Draymond Green performance as he nearly had a triple-double with 11 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists. He only played 28 minutes as the Warriors waxed the Lakers to tie up this series. Green averaged eight assists per game in the first round against the Kings and through two games is doing the same against the Lakers.

Green is surrounded by elite scorers including Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Jordan Poole. He also does a fantastic job in the middle of the paint looking for cutters and lobs to Kevon Looney. During the postseasons, Green is averaging 15.6 potential assists per game, which is third in the league behind Trae Young and Spencer Dinwiddie.

Our model has Green projected for 8.9 assists, which may be what is needed for the Warriors to steal Game 3 on the road. They are three-point road underdogs, but have won a road game in every playoff series under Steve Kerr. Green will be flooded with assist opportunities as this game has a total of 228.5 points and both teams play incredibly fast.
