Memphis, January 4, 2010 - – The Memphis Grizzlies today announced that forward Zach Randolph underwent a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which revealed a torn right medial collateral ligament (MCL).

Randolph (6-9, 255), who sustained the injury in the first quarter on Jan. 1 at Chicago, was seen and evaluated at the Campbell Clinic yesterday. His expected return to play is 6-8 weeks, according to team physician Dr. Fred Azar.

An 11-year NBA veteran, Randolph was selected to the 2010-11 All-NBA Third Team last season after leading Memphis to the 2011 Western Conference Semifinals and averaging 20.1 points and a career-high and franchise-record 12.2 rebounds during the regular season.

The 29-year-old had led the team in scoring (14.8 points) while ranking third in rebounding (7.5) through the first four games this season.
