Pre-Draft Outlook

For the second consecutive season, the Heat had to fight their way out of the Play-In Tournament. But unlike the year before, this season’s Heat fell in the first round. Miami seems ripe for a mini-shakeup, with only Bam Adebayo spared in any potential roster moves. Lots will depend on what Miami thinks of Jimmy Butler and whether he’s still an asset or, because he can’t seem to play a full season, a liability as he ages.

The Way To Go

There’s a desperate need for a point guard even with Terry Rozier III, who produced mixed results after a midseason trade with Charlotte. But do the Heat seek help through the Draft or free agency/trade? It all depends on whether they believe there’s a veteran out there who’s available. Otherwise, they could use the No. 15 pick on Isaiah Collier of USC should he still be on the board. Collier can get buckets, although he needs to improve as a playmaker.
