Pre-Draft Outlook
The Warriors have a stake in developing young rotational players such as Jonathan Kuminga, Brandin Podziemski and Moses Moody. They have another in running it back with Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and probably Klay Thompson if he’s re-signed in free agency. At some point, this team needs to decide what’s best for its future. And with Curry at 36, there’s an urgency to try to salvage what elite years he has remaining, which makes it all so complicated.

The Way To Go
The Warriors own just the 52nd pick, so the Draft won’t be a source of help (pencil in PJ Hall, a forward from Clemson). And the cap situation rules out free agency. Therefore, the Warriors must ask Curry if he’s on board with another two years, minimum, of being in the belly of the West while the Warriors restock. If not, Golden State must seriously weigh trading Kuminga in a package for immediate help and try for one last title push with Curry before it’s time for a complete overhaul.
