It appears load management has begun in L.A.
Clippers star forward Kawhi Leonard will miss Wednesday’s game against the Utah Jazz, Doc Rivers told reporters.
The team is listing him out due to “load management, knee.”
Leonard missed 22 games last season with the Toronto Raptors, who rested their All-Star in an effort to keep him healthy for the playoffs and ensure that his quad — which he injured with the San Antonio Spurs — had properly healed. Leonard played in all postseason contests and won Finals MVP.
The Clippers (3-1) have started Leonard in all four games this season, but Wednesday’s tilt is L.A.’s first back-to-back of the 2019-20 campaign. Leonard is expected to play Thursday against the Spurs.
The 28-year-old is averaging 27.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game this season.
