Tyrese Maxey was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 21st overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, and has averaged 15.4 points and 3.3 assists over 196 games through his first three seasons.
For his career, he’s shot 47.9% from the field, 41.4% from three, and 85.8% from the free throw line heading into the 2023-24 season.
In 2022-23, Maxey appeared in 60 regular season games, starting 41 of them, and averaged personal bests in points (20.3) and steals (0.8), while shooting 43.4% from behind the arc. His three-point percentage ranked fifth in the NBA on the year and fourth all-time in 76ers history. In a game against the Raptors in Toronto on October 28, he set two career highs, draining nine threes en route to 44 points.
Before coming to Philadelphia, the Garland, Texas native starred at the University of Kentucky. In his lone season with the Wildcats, he averaged 14 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists, earning spots on both the All-SEC Second Team and SEC All-Freshman Team. He was named SEC Freshman of the Week three times that season, and earned SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll recognition, too.
