Open Audition Date: Sunday, July 28, 2024. In-person registration will run from 10:00am - 11:00am (Pre-registered dancers should plan to arrive no later than 11:00am)

Location: Kaseya Center | 601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, FL 33132

Parking: Free parking in the P2 Garage, located on the south side of the arena

Entry: Enter through Gate 4 on 8th st, located on the north side of the arena

Requirements: In order to be eligible for auditions, all candidates must:

• Be at least 18 years of age by July 28, 2024
• Bring a government-issued ID, a dance or professional resumé, and 5x7” headshot (not returnable)
• Be a high school graduate or equivalent
• Have flexible schedules for rehearsals, games, and community/charitable appearances during the season
• Reside or be willing to commute to the South Florida area for all dancer-related activities
• Have at least 5 years of dance training (strongly recommended)
• Have the athletic fitness to perform high-energy routines and advanced dance techniques/skills

Attire:

• A form-fitting, two-piece outfit—no baggy clothes
• Full performance makeup
• Dance or athletic shoes with non-marking soles (heels, combat boots and shoes with marking soles are not permitted)

Virtual auditions are recommended for non-local dancers. Please note that those cut during Virtual Auditions will not have the opportunity to attend Open Auditions. All audition candidates must be 18+.

Key Virtual Audition Dates:

Once cuts have been made at the conclusion of Open Auditions and Virtual Auditions, remaining candidates will advance to Boot Camp: a 4-day training and education program consisting of workouts, technique and choreography sessions, professional etiquette development, and a final audition showcase.

Dates: Monday, July 29 - Friday, August 2, 2024; each day will run from approximately 6:00pm to 12:00am.

Following a second round of cuts at the conclusion of Boot Camp, remaining candidates will advance to Training Camp: a 4-week program that builds on Boot Camp with additional sessions focused on uniform fitting, look development and team building. Please note that cuts can be made during Training Camp.

Dates: Training Camp begins Tuesday, August 6, 2024 and will continue to meet nightly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only in the ensuing 4 weeks. The final 2024-2025 dancer roster will be announced prior to the start of the HEAT regular season.

A Pre-audition Workshop is a 3-hour session highlighted by a mock audition component, after which you’ll receive detailed individual feedback on your performance from HEAT Dancer Director Natalia Gonzalez and Miami HEAT Dancer Alumnae.

What To Expect:

• Learn HEAT Dancer-style choreography at audition speed
• A mock audition with rounds similar to the actual audition
• Receive individual feedback on your performance and appearances, plus audition tips from HEAT Dancers and Coaches
• Various seminars covering select topics like fitness, nutrition, business etiquette, and interview skills
• Candidates who excel will be eligible to skip the first round of Open Auditions

The shortest of our pre-audition offerings, a Pre-Audition Clinic is a 2-hour session that gets you up to speed on HEAT Dancer choreography with help from current dancers and alumnae.
