Raptors To Hold Training Camp In Vancouver

The club will open camp at Air Canada Centre in Toronto (September 28-30) before departing for the west coast.

This will be the second time the team has held a portion of camp outside the province of Ontario. The Raptors trained in Treviso and Rome, Italy and Madrid, Spain in 2007.

The Raptors will conduct practices at the War Memorial Gymnasium on the campus of UBC. All practice sessions will be closed to the public. A specific practice schedule with days, times and media availability will be released later.

The team will host an open intrasquad game Sunday, October 3 at 1 p.m. at UBC’s War Memorial Gymnasium. A voluntary donation of $15 benefitting UBC Athletic Scholarships is suggested for admission. The Raptors will also make an appearance at EA Sports Campus on October 5 where players and coaches will engage with members of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Vancouver in a combination of video games and basketball activities. Information regarding media availability will be announced at a later time. The event is closed to the public.

The Raptors open 2010 preseason play Wednesday, October 6 in Vancouver against the Phoenix Suns at Rogers Arena. The club’s 2010-11 regular season opener is Wednesday, October 27 at Air Canada Centre versus New York.
