NEW ORLEANS – The following is a statement from New Orleans Pelicans Owner Tom Benson and Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Mickey Loomis:

“After careful and thorough review of basketball operations, we have made the determination that the best course of action as we move forward into the 2017-18 season is to continue under the leadership of General Manager Dell Demps and Head Coach Alvin Gentry,” said Loomis. “We will continue to evaluate important roles on both the administrative and coaching staffs which will be resolved at the appropriate time.”

“Our organizational expectations and goals have not changed and all of our efforts are focused on putting together a playoff caliber roster entering training camp and ultimately into the season,” said Benson. “The end result as we move forward – playoffs and winning a championship for our fans.”

1)      New Orleans (25-39) finished a two-game Western Conference road trip Monday with a 88-83 loss at the Jazz, splitting the road trip 1-1. The Pelicans defeated the Lakers on Sunday.

2)      Watch postgame reaction from Alvin Gentry and Jordan Crawford. 

3)      The Pelicans signed Jordan Crawford to a 10-day contract on Monday, March 6. During the game against the Jazz, Crawford was able to contribute some energy to to the offense. 

4)      After the road trip, the Pelicans are off today, traveling  home for Wednesday's game verses the Toronto Raptors.  Tip-off for Pelicans-Raptors is at 7 p.m. Central. Coverage on Fox Sports New Orleans and WRNO 99.5 FM begins at 6:30.
