DENVER, Nov. 3 -- Nuggets point guard Allen Iverson brought smiles to the faces of nearly 40 children from Warren Village on Saturday, November 3rd at a basketball clinic on the Pepsi Center practice court.

The boys and girls, ages 6 – 12, each received a Denver Nuggets T-shirt and worked on dribbling and passing drills with the All-Star point guard. At the end of the clinic, he posed for pictures and made sure every child got his autograph.

Nuggets Community Ambassadors Mark Randall and Ervin Johnson were also on hand to help with the clinic and meet the kids.

“It was a true pleasure to watch a guy, who is a sure first-ballot Hall of Famer, work with such young kids and throw himself completely into the clinic. Allen is a genuine person who didn't waste the chance to connect with the kids and show them how much he cares for them.” said Mark Randall.

Warren Village helps motivated low-income, single parents move from public assistance to self-sufficiency through subsidized housing, on-site childcare, counseling, and education or job training.

“The most amazing part of the day for me was when I had a chance to shake his hand and thank him for spending time with the kids, I was able to see how much he really enjoyed the day," said Chris Konrad, Volunteer Manager at Warren Village.

The Nuggets player clinic program strives to give kids an appreciation for the sport by participating in fun activities with Nuggets players.
