The Los Angeles Lakers today announce three games for the team’s 2024-25 preseason schedule, presented by Delta Air Lines. The preseason slate is highlighted by an Oct.15 contest in Las Vegas against the Golden State Warriors at T-Mobile Arena, the site of the purple and gold’s NBA Cup title last season. Tickets go on sale May 20.

In mid-October, the team will continue its tradition of bringing Lakers basketball to Las Vegas when it takes on Golden State Oct. 15 at T-Mobile Arena. The purple and gold own many proud moments in Sin City, including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar breaking the then-NBA scoring record held by Wilt Chamberlain on April 5, 1984, versus Utah. Legend Kobe Bryant was named the 2007 NBA All-Star Game MVP held in Las Vegas after leading the West Team to victory with a game-high 31 points.

Los Angeles will open the preseason with a pair of games in Greater Palm Springs at Acrisure Arena, hosting Minnesota Oct. 4 and Phoenix Oct. 6. The purple and gold boast a rich history in the Coachella Valley, the former home of Lakers training camp. Legends Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal left their mark on the Greater Palm Springs area when they suited up for Los Angeles in the 1997 preseason at the College of the Desert. The Lakers most recently hosted the Suns at a sold-out Acrisure Arena during the 2023 preseason. Tickets for this year’s contests in the Coachella Valley will go on sale May 20 as well.

Spectrum SportsNet will broadcast all preseason games to begin its 13th consecutive season as the exclusive regional broadcast home for the Los Angeles Lakers. Additionally, all preseason games can be heard on the team’s flagship radio station, 710 AM ESPNLA, and in Spanish on KWKW 1330 AM.

Individual game tickets for contests in Las Vegas and Greater Palm Springs will go on sale at 10 a.m. PT on Monday, May 20. Tickets for the matchup in Las Vegas on Oct. 15 will be available to purchase at&nbsp;axs.com&nbsp;and at the T-Mobile Arena box office. Tickets for Oct. 4 and 6 at Acrisure Arena in the Coachella Valley can be purchased via&nbsp;Ticketmaster&nbsp;or at the Acrisure Arena Ticketmaster box office.

The Los Angeles Lakers’ 2024-25 preseason schedule is presented by Delta Air Lines, the official airline of the Lakers. The complete preseason schedule will be released this summer.

The Los Angeles Lakers have dismissed Darvin Ham as head coach.

“We greatly appreciate Darvin’s efforts on behalf of the Lakers and recognize the many accomplishments achieved over the past two seasons including last year’s remarkable run to the Western Conference Finals,” said Lakers Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Rob Pelinka. “We all want to thank Darvin for his dedication and positivity. While this was a difficult decision to make, it is the best course of action following a full review of the season. This organization will remain unwavering in its commitment to deliver championship-caliber basketball to Lakers fans around the world.”

In Ham’s two seasons, the Lakers went 90-74.

During halftime of Sunday's game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves, Jordan Preciado of Whittier, Calif., won a 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander by scoring 66 points in the Toyota Skills Challenge Finals.

Preciado competed against three other contestants tonight after qualifying based on scores from previous Toyota Skills Challenge Contests throughout the season.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

The brand new 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander was awarded courtesy of the Southern California Toyota Dealers.&nbsp;Toyota and the Lakers have team up together for over 47 years.

Jordan Preciado Wins 2024 Toyota Skills Challenge Finals

Michael Cooper has been elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, class of 2024.

Cooper was named to eight NBA All-Defensive Teams, taking home First-Team accolades five times and winning Defensive Player of the Year honors in 1987. The former third-round draft pick (60th overall) out of the University of New Mexico spent his entire 12-year NBA career (1978-90) with the Los Angeles Lakers, winning five championships while routinely matching up with the opponent’s top shooter.

The 6-foot-5 forward largely played as a sixth man and in addition to his defense was known for his knee-high socks and being on the receiving end of alley-oops from Magic Johnson. The Pasadena native played in more than 80 games in nine of his 12 seasons.

Following his playing career, Cooper entered the coaching ranks and earned WNBA Coach of the Year accolades in 2000 with the Los Angeles Sparks before winning back-to-back WNBA titles in 2001-02.

Jerry West has been elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame class of 2024 as a contributor. As General Manager, West totaled eight NBA championships in Los Angeles (1980, ‘82, ‘85, ‘87-88, 2000-02). West helped build the great Showtime dynasty, including drafting Magic Johnson and James Worthy, won Executive of the Year in 1995, and brought in Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal, and Phil Jackson between 1996 and 2000.

Jerry West was already enshrined as a player in 1980 and a member of the 1960 US Olympic Team in 2010.  In addition to his front office role with the Lakers, West played a role in the front offices for the Memphis Grizzlies, where he was again named Executive of the Year in 2004, Golden State Warriors, and LA Clippers.

West is the first member of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame to be inducted as both a player and a contributor.

Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis has been named NBA Western Conference Player of the Week for games played from Monday, March 18, to Sunday, March 24.

Davis guided the purple and gold to a perfect 3-0 week with three 20-point, 15-rebound double-doubles. On the week, the 31-year-old averaged 27.0 points (68.6 FG%, 50.0 3FG%, 72.7 FT%), 16.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.0 blocks as Los Angeles earned home victories over Atlanta, Philadelphia and Indiana.

To begin the stretch on March 18, Davis recorded 22 points (10-14 FG, 1-2 3FG, 1-2 FT), 15 rebounds, six assists, two steals and one block in a 136-105 win over the Hawks. In a 101-94 victory over the Sixers on March 22, Davis posted 23 points (10-16 FG, 1-2 3FG, 2-4 FT), 19 rebounds, four assists and four blocks, good for his second-highest rebounding performance of the season.

Davis finished the week by tallying 36 points (15-21 FG, 1-2 3FG, 5-5 FT), 16 rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block as the Lakers took down the Pacers in Los Angeles’ highest-scoring performance since 1987, 150-145. It marked Davis’ third time this season notching at least 35 points and 15 rebounds in a game and his 40th time doing so in his career, which ranks first among all active players.

In 67 games (all starts) for the Lakers this season, Davis is averaging 24.6 points (55.8 FG%, 81.2 FT%), 12.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.4 blocks in 35.6 minutes. He has recorded 56 double-doubles, including two triple-doubles, and has scored at least 30 points in 17 contests. Davis ranks third in the NBA in rebounds per game and fifth in blocks per contest.

Davis now owns 10 career NBA weekly awards, including five in a Lakers uniform. This marks his first weekly award of the season and first since April 3, 2023.
