JEANNIE...ON CANDACE
When did you two meet?
Candace and I met at mini-camp during our first year in 2004. After one of the days of mini-camp she needed a ride to the place she was staying because she was here from Oregon. So I ended up driving her around Sacramento and by the time I dropped her off, because I don’t have air-conditioning in my Jeep and it was really hot out, she had sweat through her pants [Laughs]!
How close are you now?
We are extremely close. We've gotten to know different aspects of each other more and more each year.
What makes her such a good friend?
Candace is a very good friend because she doesn't judge. She is very supportive. And I mean this in a good way, she is very naïve, so some things she doesn't get, but you have to love her for it! She doesn't have a bad bone in her body and she is a very happy person to be around.
What is one of your fondest memories of hanging out together?
It would have to be the day after mini-camp when we were driving around in my Jeep because she still gives me a hard time about the fact that I should probably get air-conditioning [Laughs].
What is her favorite food?
Her favorite food is probably anything that she can't eat right now because she is eating really healthy while training for a fitness/figure competition. So her favorite food is a Pizzookie from a local restaurant, even though she can't eat it right now.
Candace's Answer: I'm going to say this because Jeannie is on my mind and she introduced me to it, sushi.
Something about her most people don't know?
She's actually a brunette... No! I'm just kidding! She's a natural red-head. Something people might know is that she is from Oregon, but they might not know that she was actually born in Alaska.
What is her favorite thing to do in her spare time?
Her favorite thing to do right now would be working out and sleeping. She likes to read magazines and she started cooking a lot recently, too. And, of course, she likes to hang out with her friends.
Candace's Answer: I kind of look at working out as my job, so I'd have to say just chilling out and watching a movie being tranquilized in serenity.
Where was she born?
Well, we already covered that! She was born in Alaska.
Candace's Answer: Anchorage, Alaska.
What would be her theme song and why?
Her theme song would be' "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," by Cyndi Lauper.
Candace's Answer: The Rocky theme song, "Eye of the Tiger," because Rocky is my inspiration and I watched Rocky movies 1-5 numerous times growing up because my dad was a championship wrestler. Even though it's fictional, I think everyone can relate to the trials, tribulations and journey one goes through to obtain a goal. So I have just always looked to that song for inspiration.
What is her nickname?
She has a team nickname, so we call her Can-dance. Her name is spelled C-A-N-D-A-C-E, but when we first made the team she forgot how to spell her name because we were signing a lot of autographs and sometimes you forget how to spell your name! So I think she spelled it C-A-N-D-A-N-C-E, so we've called her Can-dance since then [Laughs]. A lot of her old dance company friends call her Red because of her hair, so that is her other nickname.
Candace's Answer: Red.
What is her guilty pleasure?
Her guilty pleasure would be chowing down on some really unhealthy food.
Candace's Answer: Chocolate.
If she could have dinner with three people -- dead or alive -- who would they be?
Janet Jackson, Matthew McConaughey and me!
Candace's Answer: Vin Diesel, Debbie Allen and Matthew McConaughey.
What is her favorite fashion or clothing item?
A really baggy cut-off shirt with the neck cut out. She always wears those types of shirts along with sweatpants to practice.
Candace's Answer: Cut-up shirts. I always wear cut-up shirts. It's a dancer style.
What is her best quality?
Her best quality is her heart. She has a very big heart and is very lovable and quirky. She is just very sweet and has great hair.
Candace's Answer: My best quality is my care-free and positive attitude toward life. I always try to obtain positive energy so that I can share it with others.
What is your most memorable experience with her at a community event?
Our first year that we did a Shriners Children's Hospital visit it was a first experience for both of us and we were on the same page as far as how fulfilling and at the same time unfortunate it is as well. So we could relate with that reality together. Another memorable community event we did together was during our first year at a golf tournament. We were at some random hole and during our time there we had a really good conversation.
What would she order at Carl's Jr.?
She would order a grilled chicken salad with no dressing and water with no lemon. But then she would have someone else go order her a Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger, a large fry, fried zucchini and dessert [Laughs].
Candace's Answer: Everything on the menu except the salad because I'm training right now [Laughs].
If she wasn't a SKD, what do think she would be?
Candace would be a hair model in commercials because she has big luxurious hair.
Candace's Answer: I would be a world renowned dance performer/choreographer/teacher.

CANDACE...ON JEANNIE
When did you two meet?
Jeannie and I met at Sacramento Kings Dance Team tryouts in 2004. I remember that she came up to me and complimented me on my hair and my outfit and we started making small talk at tryouts. Then, come-to-find-out, we both made the team.
How close are you now?
We're very close now. I'm a right-brain type of person and she's like the left side of my brain.
What makes her such a good friend?
We are very alike. We are quirky, spontaneous and random. What makes us click so well is that for her mature age what life has given her, I can relate to. So even though I'm younger, we both share similar views on life's philosophies. Also, what really makes us click is our chemistry. We have amazing, positive energy when we are together. When I'm having a bad day she picks me up and vice versa. We just understand each other.
What is one of your fondest memories of hanging out together?
This is one of my fondest memories because I think it kind of set the pace for our friendship. After mini-camp, our first year, I had to fly back to Oregon and she took me to the airport. Along the way, she took me around downtown Sacramento, which seemed so big to me at the time because I'm from a small town. So she was showing me the sights in her Jeep with the top off and pasty-white me was getting sunburned the whole time. So what makes this memory special is that I was in a foreign place for the first time and we had some great tunes on and had great conversation with the sun beaming down and the wind in our hair! So we got to the place where she was dropping me off and the material that her car seats are made out of doesn’t allow your skin to breathe, so I got out of her car and I had sweat through my pants [Laughs]! Needless to say, we were laughing hysterically and even though I'm someone who doesn't get easily embarrassed, since I had just met her, I was pretty embarrassed.
What is her favorite food?
Her favorite food is anything Italian. She loves her dad's lasagna.
Jeannie's Answer: Pizza and Swedish fish.
Something about her most people don't know?
Jeannie had her very first apartment, living on her own, during the 2005-06 season.
What is her favorite thing to do in her spare time?
She loves to workout and play "Guitar Hero."
Jeannie's Answer: Watch the TV show CSI, sleep and organize stuff.
Where was she born?
Elizabethtown, New Jersey.
Jeannie's Answer: Elizabeth, New Jersey.
What would be her theme song and why?
It would have to be "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper. And while the song is playing, Jeannie would be dressed in her pajamas and have her hair in pig-tails.
Jeannie's Answer: I have a ringtone of my theme song on my cell phone, which is the theme song from the TV show "I Dream of Jeannie."
What is her nickname?
Jeaners, Jeans and I call her Meece.
Jeannie's Answer: Jeans or Shuffles.
What is her guilty pleasure?
Jeanie loves sugar! I don't know how specific we want to get but, she loves chocolate, loves candy, loves dessert and loves fondue sets [Laughs].
Jeannie's Answer: My guilty pleasure is going wine tasting.
If she could have dinner with three people -- dead or alive -- who would they be?
The Rock, Todd and Dane Cook.
Jeannie's Answer: The Rock, J.C. Chasez and Ryan Reynolds.
What is her favorite fashion or clothing item?
Leg-warmers.
Jeannie's Answer: Slippers or pajamas.
What is her best quality?
Everything. Jeanie doesn't have just one. She has multiple qualities -- wisdom, inner-strength, quirkiness, personality, compassion and a loving heart. She's the total package.
Jeannie's Answer: I think my best quality is that I'm not judgmental.
What is your most memorable experience with her at a community event?
Whenever we go to the Shriners Children's Hospital for our volunteer work, when Jeannie smiles, her eyes light up, literally, it's like something turns on inside of her. There is this inner-glow that makes her one of the most gorgeous, beautiful people on the earth. So when she is sitting next to the children she smiles and the inner-glow comes through. Seeing that in her makes me appreciate what I do that much more because I love what I do and we both share that passion for our job, the community, children and our fans, and it gives us one more thing that we have in common.
What would she order at Carl's Jr.?
A chocolate shake and since she loves spicy food, she would probably order the Jalapeño Burger with Crisscut fries.
Jeannie's Answer: Onion rings, fries, a shake, a side of zucchini and a Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger with no lettuce, tomato, onion or sauce.
If she wasn't a SKD, what do think she would be?
She would be a CSI forensic specialist because she is obsessed with CSI.
Jeannie's Answer: I would be an actor because there are so many things I would like to be like a Power Puff girl or a super-hero.
