Just last week, he sunk a game-winning free throw, earned a two-way contract, and appeared on Roundball Roundup. That’s a good week. Hear Forrest describe his path to where he’s at today.

The Utah Jazz announced today that the team has signed guard MaCio Teague (may-SEE-oh). Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released. 

Teague (6-4, 195, Baylor) owned averages of 15.9 points on 47.8 percent from the field, along with 4.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists as a senior in 2020-21, helping Baylor to a National Championship. The Cincinnati native garnered 2020-21 All-Big 12 Third Team honors for his final standout collegiate season. He spent two seasons at Baylor (2019-21), where he also earned 2019-20 All-Big 12 Second Team and All-Big 12 Newcomer Team accolades.

Prior to Baylor, he spent two seasons a UNC-Asheville (2016-18), where he averaged 16.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.3 steals in 67 career games (64 starts) and was named to the All-Big South First Team twice (2017, 2018), also collecting 2016-17 Big South Freshman of the Year and All-Big South Freshman Team honors.

The Utah Jazz announced today that the team has re-signed guard Trent Forrest to a two-way contract. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not released.

Forrest (6-4, 210, Florida State) appeared in 30 games with the Jazz last season, posting averages of 2.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 10.1 minutes while shooting 45.1 percent from the field. He also saw action in four postseason games.

The 23-year-old was a four-year collegiate player at Florida State, where he left as the winningest player in school history with 104 victories, also ranking third in all-time steals (224), third in all-time games played (137) and fifth in all-time assists (455). Off the court, Forrest was named to the ACC All-Academic Basketball Team and ACC Academic Honor Roll in four-straight seasons.

Jazz Re-Sign Trent Forrest to Two-Way Contract

The Utah Jazz have announced the team’s complete 2021 preseason schedule which features two home games at Vivint Arena and two games on the road. The Jazz preseason tips off on Oct. 4 at San Antonio at 6:30 p.m. (MT).

The Jazz will continue their preseason road trip at Dallas on Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. (MT), finishing up with a two-game homestand against New Orleans on Oct. 11 and against Milwaukee on Oct. 13 at Vivint Arena. Both home games are set to tip at 7 p.m. (MT).

Broadcast and ticket sale information will be announced at a later date.

Utah Jazz Announce 2021 Preseason Schedule

The Utah Jazz have announced the team’s 14-man roster for the 2021 MGM Resorts NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. The 10-day, 75-game event will be held from Aug. 8-17 at the Thomas &amp; Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. 

The team’s roster is highlighted by 2020-21 Jazz players Udoka Azubuike, Jarrell Brantley, Trent Forrest, Elijah Hughes and Juwan Morgan. Jazz assistant coach Bryan Bailey will serve as the head coach for the club’s Las Vegas entry.  

The Jazz will tip off on Aug. 9 vs. Phoenix at 8 p.m. MT on NBATV, followed by games on Aug. 11 at Dallas, Aug. 13 vs. Miami and Aug. 15 at LA Clippers. After every team plays four games, the two teams with the best records from the first four games will meet in the Championship Game on Aug. 17. All teams will play a final matchup on either Aug. 16 or Aug. 17.

Jazz announce 2021 MGM resorts NBA Summer League roster

The Utah Jazz announced today that the team acquired forward Eric Paschall in exchange for a future second-round draft pick.

Paschall (6-6, 264, Villanova) played in 40 games (two starts) for the Warriors in 2020-21, averaging 9.5 points on 49.7 percent from the field, 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 17.4 minutes per contest.

He was drafted by Golden State with the 41st overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and following his rookie season in 2019-20, he earned 2019-20 All-NBA Rookie First Team honors, also competing in the 2020 All-Star Rising Stars Game. During his first season, he owned averages of 14.0 points on 49.7 percent shooting, 4.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 60 games (26 starts).

The Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., native finished his collegiate career at Villanova (2016-19) where in 2018, he helped the squad to a 2018 NCAA Championship, also earning 2018-19 All-Big East First Team honors as a senior.

Utah Jazz acquire forward Eric Paschall

The 3-time Defensive Player of the Year will add some more hardware to his trophy shelf—an Olympic medal.

It's silver for Jazz center Rudy Gobert and Team France at the Tokyo Olympic games after a close finish versus Team USA in the gold medal match, falling by single digits to the other guys in red, white and blue. Rudy finished the game with 16 points and eight rebounds in 30 minutes of play.

He's the first Jazzman to medal in an Olympic games since Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer since 2008. Rudy becomes the first active Jazz player to win an Olympic medal for a country other than the USA.

Rudy opened the game with the first two points by either team, finishing off of an assist from Nando de Colo. He would go on to be perfect from the field, finishing all five of his attempts from the floor. 

Gobert and Team France were the only team to beat the USA in the Olympic games, topping them in the preliminary round, 83-76. 

Rudy finished second in the tournament in total rebounds with 56 during the tournament, averaging 9.3 a game.

Utah Jazz White finished with a perfect 3-0 record as Trent Forrest and Udoka Azubuike each scored 14 points to roll by the Jazz Blue squad 83-65 at Day Three of the 2021 Salt Lake City Summer League presented by University of Utah Health, Utah Sports Commission and Western Governors University.

In the doubleheader at Vivint Arena, the Memphis Grizzlies, paced by 24 points from Desmond Bane, defeated the San Antonio Spurs 82-77 despite a game-high 27 points from Devin Vassell. Memphis finished with a 2-1 record followed by Jazz Blue at 1-2 and San Antonio at 0-3.

A single Utah Jazz team will next participate in the 16th annual MGM Resorts NBA Summer League 2021, which will take place Aug. 8-17 at the Thomas &amp; Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. All 30 NBA teams will play five games apiece during the 10-day, 75-game event.

Memphis held off a late San Antonio rally for an 82-77 win as Desmond Bane posted 24 points, six assists and five rebounds. Both Xavier Tillman and Sean McDermott added 14 points and five rebounds while Killian Tillman had 11 points. John Konchar had the well-rounded line of 11 rebounds, five assists, four points, three blocks and two steals.

San Antonio jumped out to an early 11-point lead before Memphis surged to take a 35-33 halftime advantage. Momentum continued in the third quarter as the Grizzlies exploded for 31 points in the period.

Behind a game-high 27 points from Devin Vassell and 17 points from Josh Primo, the Spurs closed the gap in the closing minutes before a pair of McDermott three-pointers and the final four points from Bane. For San Antonio, DaQuan Jeffries also had eight points and eight rebounds while Joe Wieskamp had seven points and 10 rebounds.

The trio of Trent Forrest, Udoka Azubuike and Jarrell Brantley lifted Jazz White to an 83-65 victory over Jazz Blue as the two Jazz teams squared off in the summer league finale. Forrest continued his strong play with 14 points, six rebounds and seven assists, often dishing to Azubuike for dunks, making 7-of-7 shots for 14 points plus seven rebounds and three blocked shots. Brantley scored 13 points with three assists and two rebounds. Paul White added 12 points and Juwan Morgan had a game-high 10 rebounds.

Jazz Blue led 15-14 after the first quarter before Jazz White outscored them 21-10 in the second quarter. Jazz White doubled up Blue in the third quarter by a 30-15 margin for a 65-40 lead after three quarters and coasted home.

While only shooting 31 percent from the field, all 10 players scored for Jazz Blue led by MaCio Teague with 14 followed by Jarell Martin with 13 points and Malik Newman with 11 points. Shaqquan Aaron had a team-high nine rebounds while Nate Sestina grabbed seven.
