MEMPHIS, October 6, 2008 — The Memphis Grizzlies are recycling your old cell phones, as they are teaming up with the Women’s Foundation for a Greater Memphis to support World Poverty Day with a cell phone collection during the Grizzlies preseason home game against the Charlotte Bobcats October 10, 2008 at FedExForum.

Grizzlies fans who donate their used cell phones, chargers, clips and other cell phone accessories to the Women’s Foundation for a Greater Memphis will receive a “Buy One, Get One Free” voucher to select 2008-09 Grizzlies regular season home games. There will be multiple cell phone collection locations throughout FedExForum and donations can be made during the entire game.

All donations will go towards the Women’s Foundation for a Greater Memphis’s goal of 5,000 recycled cell phones by World Poverty Day on October 17. The Women’s Foundation for a Greater Memphis will use the recycled cell phones as part of their effort to provide economic stability for women and families to ensure community vitality as well as the safety of our world.
