LeBron Receives NBA Community Assist Award

Eric Snow Hosts 4th Annual Camp
Eric Snow spent a week teaching the game of basketball to area boys and girls ages 8-14 as part of his 4th Annual Shoot for the Moon Summer Basketball Day Camp. The camp was held the week of July 7th at the Twinsburg Fitness and Community Center. Throughout the week, Snow shared some of the secrets that have guided him through a long and distinguished career in the NBA that has included 3 NBA Finals appearances and most recently, another playoff run as the Cavaliers’ Co-Captain. Snow was joined for the fourth straight year by NBA and Cavaliers legend Michael “Campy” Russell, who provided individual instruction to campers. There were also special visits by College Basketball Hall of Fame inductee and Cavaliers legend Austin Carr, who provided a shooting lecture, and Cavaliers legend Jim Chones, who provided a rebounding demonstration. On Thursday, Cavaliers guard Delonte West paid a special visit to the camp and spoke to each participant as to what made him successful in getting to the NBA.

Cavaliers and Toyota Build Home for Local Family
On Monday afternoon, the NBA, Cleveland Cavaliers and Toyota teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to build a brand new home from the ground up for one local family. Cleveland Cavaliers GM Danny Ferry, assistant coach John Kuester and Cavaliers Legends Campy Russell, Jim Chones and Bingo Smith join team volunteers and Toyota staff in framing the four walls to the new home for Darnesah Ford and her two daughters. Cavaliers Host Surprise Gas Giveaway Fueled by Kia Motors in Akron, Ohio
On Tuesday, June 24th, the Cavaliers in partnership with Kia Motors America surprised fans in Akron by giving away free gas. The Cavalier Girls, Moondog and Cavaliers in-arena host Ahmaad Crump along with Cavs staff volunteers pumped gas (up to $30 per vehicle) for the first 110 vehicles to arrive at the Circle K gas station located in Akron. State Farm® "King for Kids Bikeathon" a Success
NBA All-Star LeBron James and The LeBron James Family Foundation hosted the State Farm “King for Kids Bikeathon,” which raised more than $150,000 for the Akron Area YMCA, the Akron Urban League and the LeBron James Family Foundation, which will use its share to establish a grant program to benefit other non-profit organizations in Northeast Ohio. The popular family-friendly fundraising event, which was made possible with the support and cooperation of the City of Akron, recognized and rewarded Akron-area children who have achieved academic success, improved their physical fitness and made important contributions to the community.
