On Monday afternoon, the NBA, Cleveland Cavaliers and Toyota teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to build a brand new home from the ground up for one local family. Cleveland Cavaliers GM Danny Ferry, assistant coach John Kuester and Cavaliers Legends Campy Russell, Jim Chones and Bingo Smith join team volunteers and Toyota staff in framing the four walls to the new home for Darnesah Ford and her two daughters.

On Tuesday, June 24th, the Cavaliers in partnership with Kia Motors America surprised fans in Akron by giving away free gas. The Cavalier Girls, Moondog and Cavaliers in-arena host Ahmaad Crump along with Cavs staff volunteers pumped gas (up to $30 per vehicle) for the first 110 vehicles to arrive at the Circle K gas station located in Akron.

NBA All-Star LeBron James and The LeBron James Family Foundation hosted the State Farm “King for Kids Bikeathon,” which raised more than $150,000 for the Akron Area YMCA, the Akron Urban League and the LeBron James Family Foundation, which will use its share to establish a grant program to benefit other non-profit organizations in Northeast Ohio. The popular family-friendly fundraising event, which was made possible with the support and cooperation of the City of Akron, recognized and rewarded Akron-area children who have achieved academic success, improved their physical fitness and made important contributions to the community. State Farm, the nation’s top insurer, was the title sponsor for the “King for Kids Bikeathon,” which attracted more than 2,500 riders.
