LAS VEGAS -- An offensively balanced Milwaukee Bucks squad won their final game of the 2008 NBA Summer League Presented by EA SPORTS defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers, 88-72, on Sunday.
Six Bucks scored in double-figures in the game, including Darius Washington who finished with 12 on 6-of-10 shooting; Luc Mbah a Moute, Matt Freije, Roderick Wilmont and Trey Johnson, each scoring 11; and Joe Alexander, who tallied 10 points in the win.
The Bucks finish the Summer League with a record of 3-2, while the Cavaliers head back to Cleveland winless (0-5) in the Desert classic.
Cleveland’s J.J. Hickson scored 11 of the Cavaliers' 25 first half points, shooting 4-of-5 from the floor and 1-of-1 from three-point land en route to a 25-25 tie at the end of one.
In the second quarter, the Bucks opened up a 51-36 point halftime lead following an 11-2 run midway through the period. Hickson finished the period with a game-high 15, while Roderick Wilmont scored all nine of his points in the second quarter.
In the second half, the Bucks extended their lead to as many as 18 points as the team shot 58 percent from the field during the third quarter. Milwaukee’s lead teetered around the ten-point mark through much of the fourth quarter before the Bucks’ eventual 16-point victory.
The Cavaliers were led by Hickson’s 24 points and the duo of Clay Tucker and Romel Beck who scored 14 apiece in the loss.
