  • Mavs Keep Coming: Dallas won the 3rd quarter 29-16 to cut the lead to four and finally took the lead with 2:14 left on a spectacular finish at the basket by Kyrie against three defenders
  • Clippers Answer: PG drained a fadeaway corner 3 to put LA back up with 1:55 left, then Harden took over with back-to-back floaters to keep the Clippers up by two possessions before free throws sealed it in the final 30 seconds

4. PACERS TAKE 3-1 LEAD OVER BUCKS

With a 3-1 lead, what's left for Pacers to build on in Game 5?

Bucks Unable To Overcome Missing Stars: Brook Lopez (27 pts, 9 reb) and Khris Middleton (25 pts, 10 reb, 5 ast) combined for 52 points as the Bucks were without Giannis (calf) and Dame (Achilles) and lost Bobby Portis to a 1st quarter ejection.

5. LEBRON LEADS LAKERS WITH BACKS AGAINST WALL

LeBron James is set to play his 28th career Playoff elimination game tonight (10 ET, TNT), after the Lakers picked up their first win of the series on Saturday to avoid a sweep by the Nuggets.

How has LeBron responded with his season on the line? He has a 15-12 record in such games and the numbers show us four key themes.

  • More LeBron: His minutes increase by 4.6 per game in elimination games (44.7) compared to non-elimination games (40.1)
  • More Offense: LeBron looks for his shot more as his scoring has leapt by 5.7 ppg compared to his assists climbing by just 0.2 per game
  • Same Efficiency: His true shooting percentage between elimination games (58.41) and non-elimination games (58.40) is nearly identical
  • Strong Starts and Finishes: Looking at his quarter-by-quarter scoring, LeBron’s put up the most points in the 1st and 4th quarters, at 9.1 each

We dug into the vault to pull key elimination game moments from every stage of his career.

Cleveland vs. Orlando (May 28, 2009): LeBron dropped 37 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists in a 112-102 win over the Magic to force a Game 6. He played 46 minutes and put in this tough and-1 layup over Defensive Player of the Year Dwight Howard.

Miami at Boston (June 7, 2012): There’s locked in and then there’s locked in like LeBron in Game 6 of the East Finals against the Celtics.

“The Stare” was piercing as were his 45 points – including this vicious putback dunk – 15 boards and five assists to force a Game 7.

Cleveland at Golden State, June 19, 2016): Game 7 of The Finals, tied game with under two minutes left. The Warriors are on a two-on-one break – Andre Iguodala to Steph Curry, back to Iguodala for the layup.

LeBron came out of nowhere for the most famous block of his career. The Warriors never scored again as the Cavs won the title.

L.A. Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets (April 27, 2024): LeBron scored 30+ points for the 19th time when facing elimination as the Lakers avoided a sweep by the Nuggets and forced tonight’s Game 5.
