NBA 2K24 Summer League: Cole Swider's free throw seals wild finish for Lakers

D'Moi Hodge added five rebounds, three assists, five steals and a block, while LJ Figueroa had seven rebounds and two assists.

D’Moi Hodge and LJ Figueroa delivered 23 points each to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 104-103 victory over the LA Clippers in the NBA 2K24 Summer League on Sunday at Thomas and Mack Center.

The Clippers jumped out to an 11-point lead midway through the first quarter. However, the Lakers battled back to trim it to a six-point deficit heading into the second and kept the momentum going to claim a one-point lead at the break. The pace picked up in the third, where the Clippers outscored the Lakers 32-26 to get back in front with a five-point advantage to start the final frame. The Lakers continued the fight and reclaimed the edge in the fourth, holding a three-point lead with just seconds left, when the Clippers hit a three to tie it up. However, in a final twist, the Lakers earned a trip to the foul line right at the buzzer, where Cole Swider came up clutch with a game-winning free throw.

Hodge added five rebounds, three assists, five steals and a block, while Figueroa had seven rebounds and two assists, along with their 23 points apiece to lead the way for the Lakers. Colin Castleton continued his strong play with 13 points, 14 rebounds, six assists and a block. Swider totaled 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting, in 31 minutes of action.

On the other side Xavier Moon led the Clippers with 21 points, eight rebounds, 10 assists, two steals and a block. Brodric Thomas followed up with 12 points, two rebounds and two assists, while Jason Preston recorded 10 points, five rebounds, six assists and a steal.

Both teams have now concluded NBA 2K24 Summer League play.
